Awasi Iguazú among Vogue’s “Most Anticipated Hotel Openings of 2017”

“A hotel can make or break a trip”, says Vogue’s Michaela Trimble, “choose poorly and even the best day on the town begins to turn sour as the evening creeps in and you’re faced with returning to a tiny, sterile room with fluorescent lighting and views of an airshaft. But choose wisely and the stay becomes the highlight of the holiday.”
According to Trimble, Awasi Iguazú is among a small handful of hotels that are “so exceptional, they may merit a vacation just for a visit to the property.”
Awasi Iguazú, which is due to open in the second half of 2017, is the third Awasi hotel to join our small portfolio of luxury boutique hotels, along with Awasi Atacama (a 10 room hotel in San Pedro de Atacama) and Awasi Patagonia (located in a private reserve on the edge of Torres del Paine National Park, overlooking the famous “Torres”), both part of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux collection.
Awasi Iguazú as described by Vogue:
“The property is a small, design-forward concept in the Misiónes province just 15 minutes from Argentina’s Iguazú Falls, one of the world’s largest waterfalls. 14 villas are situated on the banks of the Iguazú River, sprinkled throughout the jungle canopy, and built on stilts for minimal environmental impact. Set to open by the end of 2017, each room features a private plunge pool, outdoor shower, and spacious living area, accented by an expansive main lodge and restaurant. Awasi Iguazú will feature a private-guide system and excursions will include biologist-led journeys to the falls, sunset boat rides, and visits to archaeological sites in the area.”
We couldn’t have put it better ourselves! We would just like to add a few details about the Awasi philosophy. At all Awasi hotels we assign a private vehicle and guide per room to provide guests with personalized services and tailor-made experiences.
All three hotels are very different, each one reflecting the surroundings and environment in which it is located. In Iguazú, each room is stand-alone, built using local materials, and on stilts for minimal environmental impact.
Lastly, similar to our Patagonian lodge, the 14 individual suites (including two master suites) are located in a private reserve, thus giving guests their own independence and privacy whilst also being able to enjoy the communal area of the Main Lodge.
