Awasi's Gabriel O'Rorke receives the award in London, Jan 2017
The prestigious website, Mr & Mrs Smith, has announced the winners for its 2017 Hotel Awards with Awasi Patagonia coming out top in the category for hotels that go Above & Beyond.
The criteria in this competitive category specifies that the guest experience is “made even more special by seamless service and generosity of spirit – where going the extra mile is the rule, not the exception.”
“As well as going above and beyond expectations (a drink on the house, the best table for your birthday, a snack for the journey home), the winner of this award knows exactly how to provide the feel-good factor – they're natural hosts.”
At Awasi, we have always encouraged our staff to exceed the expectations of guests who are well-travelled and hard to surprise. As such, winning this category comes as recognition of the wonderful team we are lucky to have at Awasi Patagonia. That we should win the category that focuses on team effort, going beyond what is anticipated and having superstar staff who go the extra mile, sums up exactly what we are trying to achieve.
Here is how Mr & Mrs Smith describes the winner, our very own Awasi Patagonia, the world’s southernmost Relais & Chateaux hotel:
“Awasi’s stellar service starts from the moment you get off the plane – you're met at the airport and chauffeur-driven you to your luxury secluded cabin (decked out with fireplace, cosy sheepskin rugs, and wood-burning stove). During your stay, you’ll have a private guide to show you the not-in-the-guidebook side of Chile’s breathtaking Torres del Paine national park, Lake Sarmiento, and the lush lowlands. You’ll feel like a master of the mountains in no time.”
The 10 runners up include some of the finest boutique and luxury hotels across the globe, including China, France, Australia, Italy, United Kingdom and, of course, Chile.
Lastly, we would like to sign off with the words of TV presenter, Anita Kapoor, who sums up why Awasi Patagonia has won this award:
“Secluded cabins amidst Patagonian triple peaks, eco-awareness, and they've bothered to make their villas and bathrooms wheelchair accessible; location, privacy and inclusivity wins hands down.”
